
The plane was returning from the “Everest Experience” sightseeing flight when the accident happened. The turboprop impacted Kot Dada mountain about 7km (3.8 NM) South-South-East of Kathmandu’s Airport. Witnesses reported the plane burst into flames on impact.
The weather conditions were bad at the time of the accident, with low visibility, low cloud ceiling and rain.
Buddha Air is currently on the blacklist of airlines banned from flying in the European Union.
