Small plane loses power during test flight, crashes just outside of Puyallup airport


PUYALLUP, Wash. — A small plane was badly damaged, but its occupants were OK after a crash on Monday afternoon.
Just before 3 p.m., a Central Pierce Fire & Rescue (CPFR) crew and Pierce County deputies responded to an aircraft emergency just outside Thun Field in Puyallup. Crews found a small airplane crashed in the brush.

Luckily, the two people inside the plane were taken to the hospital with only minor injuries.

According to CPFR, the airplane lost power shortly after takeoff. It was taking a test flight after receiving maintenance.

Though the pilots tried to make it back to the runway, the plane crashed just short of the airport.
