A Thai F-16 fighter jet has struck targets inside Cambodian territory. The country’s army reported that one of six F-16 fighter jets stationed near the disputed border was sent over Cambodian territory and destroyed a military target.
Cambodia’s Ministry of Defense reported that the jets dropped two bombs on a road, stating that it “strongly condemns the irresponsible and brutal military aggression of the Kingdom of Thailand against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Cambodia.”
Thailand and Cambodia report rising tensions and blame each other for starting the clashes. Thailand has closed its border with Cambodia. Earlier, there were reports of border clashes using small arms, and later information emerged about the involvement of large-caliber weapons, even tanks and multiple rocket launchers.
