F-16 skids off taxiway in Korat, pilot survives

An F-16 fighter jet skidded off a taxiway and crashed into a drainage ditch in Nakhon Ratchasima Wednesday afternoon, damaging the aircraft but leaving the pilot only slightly hurt.

The incident took place around 1pm at the 1st Wing in Muang district when the F-16A jet suddenly lurched forward almost 100 metres when the engine was started and was idling.

The plane slid into the ditch and the pilot could successfully ejected from the plane.
