LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — Photos have emerged of a plane crash at Lake of the Ozarks on Sunday afternoon that killed an Iowa couple.
Scott and Amy Lowe, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, were killed when their plane crashed not far from the Grand Glaize Airport in Osage Beach, Mo., just after 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 16, 2020. No details about the circumstances surrounding the crash have been released as of this writing, and Osage Beach Police officers are on the scene, awaiting the arrival of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigators.
Hearing about the crash, the crew at Tom Cline Helicopter was nearby and took to the air to investigate. They managed to take several photos of the crashed plane, buried in the woods, ablaze.

Air travel is a common way for many people to access Lake of the Ozarks, both for pleasure and business—but especially the former. And local airport directors say air traffic has been on the rise in the past couple of years. That, combined with what many suspect is the highest number of visitors the Lake of the Ozarks has seen in a decade or more, means local air traffic has been busy.

Plane crashes are uncommon, but not unheard of, at the Lake. In 2018, one person was injured in a plane crash at the airport in nearby Richland.
